Over 60 individuals attended the 2026 kickoff lunch and had the opportunity to learn more about the meaningful impact Project Salina has on the agencies that directly benefit from your efforts to raise funds and collect food.
Attendees enjoyed a delicious taco bar prepared by the Salina Rescue Mission and heard from each of our partner agencies about how Project Salina supports their daily operations and helps serve individuals and families who may otherwise not know where their next meal will come from.
Attachedis the handout distributed at the kickoff, which includes everything you need to run a successful campaign. If you have any questions after reviewing the materials, please don’t hesitate to reach out—we are happy to help.
If you were unable to attend and would like posters or brochures delivered, please send an email to projectsalina@gmail.com with the quantity needed, a preferred delivery time, and the name of the contact person.
A note for churches: Traditionally, churches have collected cash and canned tuna. However, this year, due to a change in the items being collected by USD 305, we are asking that churches who wish to collect food items focus on canned fruits and vegetables.
Many businesses have chosen to collect monetary donations, however, if your business prefers to collect food items, please send an email to projectsalina@gmail.com and we will assign a specific product for you to collect.
As you gather food donations, please remember to have items counted prior to delivery and include the attached collection report when bringing donations to the warehouse (505 Graves Blvd.,map attached).
You are welcome to begin collecting donations at any time—there is no need to wait for the official campaign to start.
We will continue to share updates and additional information via email and Facebook as the campaign officially begins on May 1.
Thank you for your continued support in helping fight hunger in Salina.
